Interchangeable engine covers?

Does anyone know if these b58 engine covers are interchangeable? Noticed the newer m40i cars come with a newer engine cover versus the older b58s

It appears as if the newer one won’t fit on the older one. Look at the top part near the weather strip. The older weatherstrip part looks like /-\ (with the dash /horizontal part appearing near the top) whereas the newer one looks like /—-\. If that makes sense.

Neither of the pics look like a g20 engine bay so I'd guess no to the fitting
