g20 M340i MPE or DINAN exhaust??

So, the M Performance exhaust is cheaper than the Dinan, but the dinan not only looks better but sounds better in my opinion. The stock exhaust on the g20 M340i sounds good to begin with and so does the MPE. But, of course over the past month DINAN finally released the new quad tip exhaust for the G20 M340i.. I Feel it is a better looking system, sounds better and stands out way better than the MPE. The MPE physically looks similar to stock M340i exhaust which BMW dropped the ball on. It is almost pathetic, especially with the bumper exhaust cutouts that looks exactly like a 330i.. opinions anyone? I am leaning towards the DINAN system 65/35 in a MPE VS DINAN exhaust for the m340i

You know my opinion lol, I was about to pull the trigger on the mpe the day the Dinan exhaust dropped. What I feel are the strong points in this are the aesthetics with the quad tips and in black. The next point is the exhaust is now homologous, being they put the actuators on both sides, to me it balances the tone more and the muffler design also deepens the tone in comfort drive setting. To me Dinan is a way more thought out exhaust vs a freer flowing muffler that the mpe seems to be.

Agreed, I was so close to pulling the trigger on the MPE with a slamming deal and DINAN kept teasing us with the beta photos and soon to comes as far as the exhaust goes. I just think DINAN did this properly and dropped it when they knew it would be fully 100% perfect. I have to appreciate that, a lot of DINAN stuff is overpriced in my opinion, and not the greatest (not only price but performance),but keeps you in warranty. Which is what I need when I return the lease and recoup my money for the exhaust. Especially, for all the people who will buy the g20 M340 second hand and will want to tune and mod, just like us. This DINAN exhaust is worth it to me for the $500 price difference to the MPE . Maybe not their intake or tuner but the DINAN exhaust they hit a homerun for sure.

I would buy it in a heartbeat if the tips were slightly smaller and didn't have such prominent branding on them. Otherwise the sound and everything else looks great.

The Tips are large, but in comparison to MPE and the fact you can tuck(dinan quad tips) them in more than the exampled grey m340 dinan used, it looks great. MPE nothing changes back there except exhaust note.

Still doesn't make me feel any different about the size of the tips and the branding. I like an OEMish look.

I got the MPE but I got it port installed and residualized in my lease. If I were to make the decision now I would probably go with the Dinan. I love my MPE but I wish it was louder, as I'm not considering a downpipe.

Yea, I am leaning towards the DINAN, I just want the tips tucked in, I dont want them sticking out as far as DINAN did to show off the tips. You'll still be able to see them its unavoidable just they do go in a little further according to some other posts on here from installing the DINAN exhaust themselves, and to be honest the guy with the white M340 that put it on, he did a great job tucking them in further, looks way better and cleaner.

Agreed...

My vote will depending on certain details. If I was ordering a car I was leasing I'd vote MPE since it can be installed for free and is residualized into the lease. No worrying about swapping it at the end of the lease and it keeps everything OEM.

However if I were choosing between the MPE and Dinan exhausts on a stock car I already had, I'd choose the Dinan. I have MPE but based on the videos the Dinan exhaust sounds slighty deeper and louder which is nice. The quad tips are also much better than the stock exhaust surround.

At this point I'm just waiting for someone to make quad exhaust tips that fit the MPE.

I wonder if most dealers would care if you returned in a leased vehicle w Dinan exhaust tho? BMW and Dinan are synonymous and it doesn't void your warranty (most of the time).

My dealer said they wouldn't care as long as it wasn't some straight piped exhaust or something. I asked when I was purchasing

Oh one pro tip go ahead and spend the 60$ for the cables and bimmercode app, the exhaust really comes to life after the ASD is turned off.

Trying to decide on both these options myself! I am leaning towards the Dinan.. As long as the tips can be pushed in a little more. I like MPE but the stock tips drive me crazy that you can see straight down to the ground. If they were connected to the exhaust it would be a more difficult decision to make but i think BMW dropped the ball connecting them to the bumper. Poorly executed IMO.

Just my 2-cents - food for thought :-)

The Dinan exhaust value would probably be about 50-cents on the dollar used three years from now. I would put the Dinan on now (about $1500.00) and then sell it for $750.00ish a few years down the road :-). And turn my car in with the stock exhaust it came with - it's a super easy swap - on and off is probably a total of $100

Again just my thoughts...

Meaning you can hear the actual exhaust if you eliminate the fake engine sound - I assume that's what you mean :-) And I agree 1000%

I killed the ASD on my 340 and will do the same when my 2021 M340 eventually reaches me (probably in 2026)

for me it's going to be the differences between AWE and Dinan; AWE should be released within the next month and is a catback
