I used to own a 2014 X3 xdrive 35i with a bmw hitch click on bike carrier. I traded the X3 in last year for an X5 xdrive 50i, which has a 2" hitch. I still have the bike carrier. I tried using a 2" - 1.25" adapter but the click on carrier doesn't fit. Is there any other adapter/ideas I can use to hook up the bike carrier to the 2" hitch. I prefer not having to buy a new bike carrier. Thank you.

Hello fellow Michigander!
Maybe a few more photos of the carrier you have, specifically the "hitch" portion, may be of benefit for people to help understand what it is that you have, as I for one am unsure. Good luck! Edit: Oh, I think I see it now. That "male" hitch part looks kinda odd. Again, good luck.

Looks like the proprietary click hitch part will unbolt from the carrier. My suggestion is have a metal fabricator build a new adapter that bolts to the rack and fits the 2” hitch
Otherwise you’re going to have to get a new rack. Sucks that BMW had that proprietary click hitch. |
