Oil & Filter Change Questions

I am looking into buying some oil filters for my M2C. When checking RealOEM, I found part number 11427854445 (see below), which goes with Mann filter HU8011, but I have also seen some people using HU816X.

In addition, I have been searching everywhere for 0W-30 LL-01FE oil. I can only find the BMW oil sold by the quart FCP Euro for $9, which doesn't seem like a bad price.

I researched the M3/M4 forums and got different information where some guys are running 0W-40 or 5W-30. Castrol used to make a 0W-40 that was LL-01, but that was back before 2019. It's too bad as well since it sells for less than $20 for 5 quarts.

My questions are:

1. What filter are you using (Mann HU8011 or HU816X)?
2. What oil weight and brand? If you have links to places that carry it, it would be appreciated as well!

TIA!

The oil is Shell. You can buy it at any Shell station.

FCP has a kit that includes everything you need. The thing that intrigues me about FCP is the lifetime replacement for everything including oil changes. You just have to pay shipping to send back the old oil and filter. I've haven't used them yet, but a friend of mine has numerous times and it's amazing how good their warranty is. For instance, he bent a control arm on one of his cars and sent it back to them. They replaced it, no questions asked.

I wish we had Shell in Western NY, but I've only seen them downstate.

No, but I change my oil every 5,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it worked on fluids. I have purchased items from them in the past but have yet to use their warranty.

I wonder how much it would cost to ship back 7 quarts of oil...?

UPS gives a shipping quote of 18.00 to ship a 16 lb box from Buffalo to CT. I suppose 20 bucks an oil change after paying full price for the first one is pretty decent.

No idea, but I imagine it wouldn't cost that much using USPS flat rate boxes.

Several places sell it online. Looking for Shell Helix Ultra. 5-30 seems to be the most in stock. It is ll-01 approved.

My first "interim oil change" is looming and I'll use Liquimoly Top Tec 4600. Used Liquimoly in the E46 and worked well (different viscosity of course). I would go with Motul 300v but it's about twice as expensive.
