M2C got drivetrain malfunction info today
Today when I accelarate several times then this message poped up, said 'drivetrain malfunction, drive moderately, max drivetrain output not available' The car was shaking when I parked somewhere. But the problem was gone after restarted the engine and so did the message. Anybody know what is the most likely issue on this? this car just 4000miles.
I know should go to dealer but now due to coronavirus... if someone can help me figure out or have same issue before, please help me. |

Def have the dealer hook it up. I知 guessing the malfunction code will be saved? Is it a DCT car (I知 in a mobile, can稚 see sigs). I知 real curious what will become if this.

When it appears, shut the engine off for 30 seconds and restart it. If the error message doesn't reappear or is not saved into the check control's menu, then it was merely just a fluke and your vehicle is perfectly fine.
By design, had the vehicle have a detrimental fault, that required your dealer's immediate attention, the said message would of persisted and be etched in vehicle's memory, not being something that would be that easily erase, until it's actually addressed by a technician and electronically resetted. "Drivetrain Malfunction" is a generic error that appears for practically any frivolous reason from a loose gas cap or driving with a low tire pressure, it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong; think of it as a friendly heads-up that something might possible be wrong but more than likely, isn't. |

Happened to me two months ago and my car had just under 2k miles. Took it to the dealership and they couldn't find any issues with it. They reset a few things with the DCT and I haven't experienced the issue since. I would probably just monitor to see if it happens again but hopefully it's a one-time fluke like it was for me.
