330e Exhaust Valve - Help

It would seem that the exhaust valve on the 330e operates differently to the 330i and M340i in that it will not open while in Park and Sport mode.

No amount of spirited driving will keep the valve open when in park - Making it difficult to unplug the connection and keep it open.

Just wondering if anybody else with a 330e has experienced this?

I'm guessing I've got no other choice than to code it?

I think the only option is to code it, I have the exact same issue. Matter of fact i've NEVER noticed the valve being open, either by ear or by looking into the pipe. At this point im not even sure if the valve is functioning or not.

So I came across this thread after an hour or so "spirited driving" and i too have the same issue. Nothing opens that exhaust flap

How would you code this? Any help or advice to get mine open so I can disconnect that adapter would be great.

Many thanks

Just remove the clip, open it and fasten it with a stainless steel wire or something. Always open, and no coding. Only takes 5 minutes.

I bought a Carly OBD2 connector (cheapest IOS compatible OBD2 I could find) and also purchased BimmerLink for IOS. The exhaust control button in the app works perfectly

Weird, why they should open the valve only for 50%?

I wonder if it has anything to do with EU sound/emissions laws?

A few people, myself included have noticed our cars get quieter with software updates

Yes, that's probably the reason. But it's already super quiet... Valve full open is not really a big difference..

Hi, that's interesting! Have you tried letting it idle for a little bit while in park? Although it was tested on a 330i, not a 330e, it did have to idle first, then go into Sport Mode.

I now have this working, I got in contact with Bimmerlink and was given a unreleased beta version of Bimmerlink which opened it 100% fully open. This is what it sounds like now.

Got the beta aswell, now the valve opens fully using BimmerLink.
Can this be coded to work permanently without BimmerLink?

Why does the valve only open when in movement? Has it some special reason related to keeping the engine warm or something like that? Do u know if it's safe to open it permanently?
