Oil cooler in front of radiator

My car didn't come with an OE I have an OFH and aftermarket cooler arriving tomorrow. I was wondering if there were any downsides positioning the cooler in front of the radiator. The reason I want to do this is to avoid buying a new fender liner, air duct, grill, etc. and save over $200. Any input appreciated

Idk. The front of the radiator, on a 335i is really not the front of the radiator. You are really looking at the power steering cooler. You can retrofit an OEM duct into an existing wheel well liner. All you need is a dremmel & some JB Weld.

Awesome, thanks. Would it still be alright that's it's rectangular rather than one of the stretched shorter ones?

Seems like other vehicles will have one the way you want....my wife's SUV has a PS cooler in front of her rad. I mean it has to theoretically affect something, but from a practical standpoint probably not. Meaning a car can drive when it's 10F and also drive when it's 105F, i.e. a wide range...
