A question for the better peeps in the know with part swaps etc:

- someone has managed to swap the selector that we have on the M40i for a newer looking one. Any ideas how they would have done this?
- what parts would they have ordered?
- doesn't necessarily have to be the 'Crystal' or Glass trimmed selector

Pictures attached. Saw it on the BMW X3 Owners FB Group if anyone of you are in that.

I'm pretty sure he's the only one to have done it and posted so far. And judging by his English on the posts it's going to be difficult to clearly communicate with him on what he did and what was needed.
I don't like the shifter in the newer cars. It's much smaller and it feels, in my opinion, far cheaper than the one we get in the G01. I don't mind the Swarovski glass but it's just the feel and the movement and weight of it all that I don't like.

I think previous threads seemed to indicate that it can't be done.. but we shall see!!

Based on the Aliexpress one.... it looks like it just clips on overtop of your original. Unless you knew that already. Or I am a turd.
