Resistall, what is it?

Took delivery of 2020 X3 M40i and while doing the usual looking at everything I discovered that the dealership coated the exterior (at no cost to me) with a sealant/wax ??? called resistall.
Salesman said it works but of course I'm skeptical. Normally I would have taken the car into my detailer for ceramic coating but it appears that won't happen for several months at least.
So, does this stuff work enough that I don't need to wax it right away? Any insight would be much appreciated.

p.s. color is Carbon Black
