Hey All...

Is anyone missing the "Remote Software Upgrade" option in Idrive settings?

Brand new m40i, just shy of a month old.

First thing I see on sign in at the BMW connected website is my car details and being told to enable this option in my idrive settings.

Of course the option isn't there.

How is it possible that the latest tech, latest idrive software is missing this option?

Of course noone at the dealer has a clue.

Any ideas?

I have a 2020 M40i as well and bought it back in November. Mine has never had it and I have had the software updated to the latest version and still does not have the remote update option. The version before was missing remote 3D View.

My dealership told me remote update would be added sometime in 2020 for the X3s on iDrive 7. My dealership also seems to have the knowledge level of a rock, so who actually knows.

You need the 19-11 update. Which allows remote 3D view in the connected drive app. The settings are in privacy settings I believe to enable 3D remote view.

He's asking for remote SOFTWARE update, not remote 3D view.

It's highly doubtfull if or when RSU will be introduced on the G01.

Just effin sad.
We're in 2020 and one of the top premium automakers can't sort out what tesla has had for years...
(The fact that other premium car makers might be just as shit on the software end is also a sad excuse)
