I've been using it for most of the last year as a preservative for my carnuba wax.
I run the car through a touchless car wash, which leaves a residue on the finish. Then I use the Mequires and a MF cloth to clean it up afterward. It seems to have helped the wax (Mothers Carnuba) live longer than it would have otherwise. I used it on a jet black car and was very happy with the results. The car hasn't been in a garage since last April. I'm a little leery of wiping the car down with anything more than the finest layer of dust. I'd rather leave the dust until the next wash. |

I agree with the previous post on leaving the dust until the next car wash.. but if you spray enough of that quick detailer on... it might lift the dust particles and not cause the dust to have any friction at all with the paint. Isn't that what the detailer is for... I don't know... I am asking the question.

Quick Dusters and Spray detailers
You can buy really soft quick dusters which work great when you have recently washed and cared for your exterior. Ensure that with each use the quick duster is free of any debris.
These work very well with the detailing spray since the light layer of dirt and dust is mostly removed. Detailing spray is used by many for outside shows and clay bar use. It should never take the place of a fine carnuba wax base. When I need to purchase detialing gear at "common" stores, I like to stick with Mother's or Meguiars. Neither has let me down. I avoid armor alls and turtle waxs as these are substandard at best. |

Assuming that your car is relatively clean and free of hard dirt particles (i.e. the car is only "dusty"), I use a California Car Duster (available at Target) to get rid of the dust. Then I finish off with a spray and wipe of Meguirs Quick Car Detailer. It is also a good product to remove bird crap, but make sure you spray tons of the solution on to the bird crap. Dried bird crap is equivalent to hard dirt/rocks!

I only use after washing to return some gloss between waxing.
I also use to remove local contaminants very carefully. Bird poop, bug guts, etc. I always, always use it with a microfiber. |

meguiars ultimate quik detailer is never a substitute for a good hard wax base that the car needs. I use the detailer in between a good wax job, but never use it whe the car is dirty since dirt is an abrasion on the car finish. but overall its good for small jobs
