Retrofit FLA for dummies?

So I've figured out which part I need, but I'm not sure about the coding part. Is there a good comprehensive guide how to get the FLA working? Everything I've found is kind of scattered and all over the place. Thanks in advance.

All you have to do is add the FLA to your VO and default code the modules FLA interacts with to let them know it is present.

This includes, FZD, CIC, Kombi, etc.

so are you saying that once the VO is updated, then recoding those modules w/ default settings would make them pick it up and recognize it?

Does this still work if you don't have a rain sensor?

Unlikely since the rain sensor is part of what makes HBA work.
