Really just to minimize the noice and vibration to the accessory system. I would like to try the fluidampr too, but with some people reporting a whole lot extra noice and vibration, I dont want to risk it without an OAD, atleast.

You buy the Fluidamper with the proper clutched pulley kit (335d and X5d are different).

Would it, though? What about the other accessories; PS, AC, etc? Would they not still be subject to vibration even if the alternator has a fancy pulley?

Save your money and get a oem damper with a clutched alternator pulley. It will last you 100+k miles. If BMW had a clutched pulley we wouldn't be having these damper issues.

Exactly what I did for my 35d. I really wanted the "updated" damper but stuck to OE due to costs at the time and then just added the clutched pulley.
