Maximize Power on 93 Pump Gas Only

I am wondering if anyone knows what the most power people make on 93 pump only. I have read that the VTT GC gives ~520 and the Pure800 does ~585 (are these numbers accurate?). Reason I am looking at this is because I don't have access to E85 and I don't want to do anything with meth. What would you guys recommend for a setup? Currently I am running MHD stage 2 93 oct tune with a catless downpipe. Currently looking at doing dorch stage 1 pump with either VTT GC or Pure800. Anyone have recommendations or know of any setups that I might not know of/overlooking?

I think 500-520whp is realistic/safe on either GC or Pure800 on 93. The higher Pure results were more from 95oct I think. Could probably get higher if you want to be on the edge of timing/glory run.

I want something that's safe for DD and only runs on 93 pump. So maybe the VTT GC with Dorch Stage 1 is the way to go if no advantage from Pure?

We offer custom maps by Jordan Tuning; I suggest contacting him. He will let you know how much power you can get with the current setup

Im sure the Pure will have a slight advantage, but maybe 10-20whp for a safe pump tune.

You can always make more power with a bigger turbo, so this question is open ended. Pure800/Vargas GC are just hybrids. Big Boost is an actual big turbo kit and can make more with just 93 oct. Other kits like Doc Race will be coming in the future.

Our cars like timing but it's not the only way to make power. The bigger question is how much of an investment do you want to make.

The thing is that hybrids power can normally be used with a safe tune and keep the stock engine with a ''safe'' tune. Big boost option wih a stock engine makes no sense.

Appreciate all the info guys. Would you say Dorch Stage 1 HPFP and VTT GC makes the most sense here? About to pull the trigger on that setup in a month or so when it warms up a bit here.

You don't have to max out the turbo. You can run at 50% load as compared to 100% load on the hybrid turbos.

Why not Dorsch Stage 2 HPFP? I wouldn't think changing to a beefier ST2 HPFP would pose any safety/reliability risks, right?

My apologies I am a noob at this; I don't know if budget was a factor in your decision to go with St1 or reliability/safety.

From what I've heard is the stage 1 pump is enough to max out the VTT GC turbo on 93 pump gas. If you start getting into ethanol than that is different and you would probably need the stage 2.

Accurate. B58TU (Supra) pump would also work.
Ethanol is higher octane but also needs 30% more volume than gasoline to do the same work. That's where the bigger pumps come in.

I appreciate the response! I won't ever touch ethanol so I see no point in me going into ST2 pump. I know that the B58TU pump from M340i/Supra works just as well. If price was no issue, between Dorsch Engineering St 1 and Supra pump, which is better?

There is a whole separate thread about the pumps I recommend switching this conversation to if you want to get additional details. But in short, they're all comparable, just have different flow rates

I had a similar decision to make recently but I have the advantage of having plentiful cheap E85 here in SD. I personally opted for the Pure800 turbo and Dorch Stage 2 pump. From everything I've seen, it's possible to make 600 WHP on both setups on E85- the difference is the PSI needed to make it. With the Pure800, I can make that power at a lower PSI and still have some headroom on the turbo. Either as a safety cushion or possibly for additional upgrades later if I decide to completely lose my mind and start beefing up pistons, etc.

I think since you're limited to 93 octane, a slightly bigger turbo is going to provide you an advantage and possibly a better safety profile. I'm still learning this stuff too, so someone else may have a valid counterpoint. There's also cost to consider.

Either way, I'd include the Supra pump as an option for reasons I stated above - without ethanol, flow is just not as big of a deal for these hybrid-sized turbos.

Reason I'm not really considering the supra pump is just the psi difference. At $999 for the TU pump vs $1199 for the dorch pump which is full plug and play vs splicing wires and having the possibility of something going wrong with the psi difference I just assume pay the $200 and get the easier option.

So what did you end up going with? I'm facing the same situation except that I can probably get Ethanol if I want to, but I don't want to go through the trouble. Now there is also the option of the GC+ turbo. I guess what I'm trying to find out is the hardware set up to maximize power on 93 such that the gas/octane is the limiting factor and not the turbo or HPFP but I also don't want to spend money on the pure800 if stage one is enough or on the GC+ if the GC is enough, or Dorch stage 2 if stage 1 is enough.

I have VTT GS and Dorch 1. 98Ron. Now the power is the same as on stock turbo with E20 + WMI. 526hp. Since the time of 100/200 and 1/4 is almost the same. Later, when I’ll finish the setup, I’ll go to the stand and measure it for sure.

Supra pump can be had new for $800 shipped and the wiring extension is $30.

That’s about a $400 difference in savings, more if you get it used.

Basically covers a major chunk of the tune if you decide to go that route.
