That's good if we are seeing 25% discounts now, just need the APR to drop as well and alls rosey!

Yep definitely going the right way. Hopefully even better in 12-18 months when I'll be in the market but 3 3'ers in a row maybe too many.

Would be more if I went for the spec I would like (and that matches my last 340)... Without going too silly, options would be about £5,500, so something like £150/160/m extra...

I mean, still, better than at launch, but a PCP would be circa £650/m over 4 years, even with a 26% deposit..!!!

Going to be interesting to see how much lower these things get... What are we now, less than 12 months since the first G20's hit the streets...?

I went for no options at all for this reason. I would have liked a heated steering wheel but not for £2,100 (the packs required)!

Yes, looking at the PCP option (£499 down and £499/month for 47 months) the dealer contribution of £12.7k works out at a discount of 25.6% on the list price (which is indeed pretty good!).

The caveats are that a) options will almost certainly dilute that discount percentage down and b) the offer applies only to vehicles in stock (so you may have to compromise on colour combination and/or spec to take advantage of it). However, definitely a decent deal if you're not wanting many options and are prepared to be flexible on colour combo!

Agreed still pricey but the 4.9 apr is killing the deal at the moment. Should that drop to 2.9 say it makes a reasonable difference.

At a minimum I'm waiting for Q2 and now likely Q3 deals to emerge what with everything going on and no I dont just mean pandemics..

Does seem encouraging that prices are heading in a more sensible direction. Looks like being a decision in late Q2 / early Q3 between one of these (likely the touring) and a Model 3 Performance, unless there’s a standout deal on something interesting and completely random between now and then...

And it's only 8k a year on the mileage. I'd be fine from January to the beginning of May!

Thinking about this, I'm not sure how long this downward trend would actually be likely to continue...

Any current deals would seem to be attempts at fulfilling Q1 targets by dealers... But, longer term, with there being no point in anybody selling anything significant at a loss, they would have to cut production (or UK production allocation), and cut the discounting to shift metal at the same time...

A tough market is not always a buyer's market...

Not saying you're wrong, but that's not how it's worked out the last couple of years.

The discounts may get bigger towards the end of a quarter to hit targets, but Apr will likely change each quarter set by BMW. And it usually drops.

indeed. That's around the total charge that JLR are levying on me for what will be about 7k in 8 months in my car. Different situation I know, but that's some PCP excess mileage rate!

It really is, it shows how much of a hit BMW have taken on these deals. They really don't want them back over mileage as well.

By contrast, my 440's excess charge was 6.65 pence per mile.

I think the X7 was 14p per mile, as is the D5. More palatable if you go a little later over.

My contract is for 10k miles a year. I tend to drive about 13k, but fortunately I can easily do some of those miles in another car as I'm not keen on paying 41p/mile!

It looks like my lease provider, Leasys, use a random number generator when creating these contracts - neither the excess price per mile nor the actual monthly rental cost make a lot of sense. Towards the end of the 24 month contract I'll ask them for a cost per month to extend. Interesting to see what the price is - based on current form it might be £20pm or £2000pm!
