Flashing Ambient Lighting on open door panels

When any of the doors are opened on a 2020 X7... is the ambient lighting supposed to flash a different color. If so, where is this feature hidden in the manual? Thank you

When the door is open the ambient light should flash red to warn other road users.

Yes. And as Doug Demuro points out in his X7 review, for some reason this includes the ambient lighting in the 3rd row. So be it.

The engine has to be on for it to flash, otherwise it does not flash. It seems like it should always flash when you have the door open??
