iPhone blue tooth streaming

Anyone having disconnect issues while streaming to the car via Bluetooth with apps OTHER THAN iTunes?

I had this issue last year with one app now it effects all but iTunes.

iPhone 11 Pro and 2020 M5 and zero issues. It works flawlessly and I mainly use Spotify in Apple CarPlay mode.

Thank you for feedback.

This has apparently been an issue in many brands of vehicles but most reports are that all streaming gets disconnected, my is fine with iTunes but every other streaming type gets disconnected. I am trying to take some time to trouble shoot it this weekend. Very frustrating BS.

Same setup for me. Zero issues using any of the music apps. Does it just happen with your music app? in other words, not happening with the Maps app, or anything else?

Sounds trivial, but delete your music app, and reinstall it.

I have the same issue but it's when I'm on the phone. It will disconnect mid conversation, music will start playing then about 5sec later it will reconnect. I brought the car back to BMW and I pushed them to do something. They changed the head unit and it still kept happening. So I went to Apple, spoke to one of the techs and they said it's an ongoing issue and to look out for the next update. That was about 3 weeks ago, so still nothing.

I have been following such things with iPhone for about 3 years. There are reports of similar issues with other car brands. It's an odd thing.

I had it first show up about a year ago with one app (Rush 24/7) and worked with them for months. They admitted there was a bug but could not find a definite fix. Now it does the same in Youtube and Blaze TV. It's a pita.

Did not have time yet to try to trouble-shoot. But I did wash and wax my M5. My back hurts now. Did some astrophotography shooting instead of trouble shooting Bluetooth LOL.

I have about given up on BMW fixing this issue. I went back to downloading podcasts and putting them on a Thumb Drive. Before it was kind of a pain since the site I use was using iTunes to do this and thus I had to sync the phone and thus would still be dependent on the BLUETOOTH although that should work, but I think Apple removed podcasts from the music app and you have to use a different app. It's a PITA.

Well the thumb drive works, but I have not driven around to fully see if it is a good work around. The question I have to answer is will the car remember where I leave off on a podcast. I'll figure it out on my next drive. Other content that is not available as a downloadable podcast I listen to with my head set. LOL.
