iDrive tire pressure and high speed suggestion

Hi,

I saw that U.S. iDrive is suggesting higher tire pressure for speeds 100mph+.
In EU iDrive is suggesting higher pressure for heavy load ( 5 persons + fully loaded trunk).
What does it differ and what it really gives with higher pressure and high speeds ? Are you running higher PSI even on lower speed?

Ive always gone slightly higher than suggested by2-3 psi. Im more concerned about huge potholes here. I wish high speeds were the reason.Too much pressure will wear out the centre ribs btw.
