Piece of rubber from inside tire gone

I just went to the tire shop to patch a nail in my Kumhos and we found a small piece of rubber lifted from the inside of the tire that exposed the chords. Should I replace it or keep driving on it? There is plenty of thread left, but a nice sized pothole could also blow my tire out. What should I do?

If you think the tire will blow if you hit a pothole then why continue driving it? I would get checked out/replaced as soon as possible.

what do you mean the inside of the tire? Like at the bead/edge portion? Or like on the carcass center portion? Take a picture if you can.

There can't possibly be any discussion as to whether or not to replace it. Don't just think of it giving way slow speeds on a city road - what if it gives way on the freeway? Just a death wish if you ask me...

see if you can get warranty on the tire. Go to where you bought it. That happened to me once and i was scared driving on it just getting home. As you drive the tire will keep lifting all around.

It's on the inside where the tire meets the rim. Once mounted you can't see it. It's about less than a half inch big. It's just lifted up.

Sounds like it was damaged when the tire was either being mounted or removed from the wheel.
