BMW 3 Stage 2 on Stock DP

I am currently running BM3 Stage 1 93oct and wanted to move up to Stage 2 93oct, but really don't want to swap my OEM downpipe due to emissions and I don't want it any louder. I have my burbles set at 4.5 which is low and not to over the top. Will this be an issue at all going to stage 2 without aftermarket DP ?

Engine Mods: AEM intake, OEM turbo 3k miles on it, CTS Charge pipe, Gplus upgraded intercooler, and Borla attack exhaust.

you may damage the stock dp with the excessive heat. (Cat) harder to hit new boost targets i beleive with the stock dp as well

also stage 2 with out the proper intercooler upgrade will result in high temps and reduced ignition timing so you may get 1 good power hit/pass

if sound is a concern its there is an option for and less restrictive catted downpipe. which would cost more than catless. but less noise than catless also. then yoy can adjust the burble tune accordingly

Thanks for the input, the intercooler is the exact same as the wagner and works great temps are down and car runs great. I was just concerned regarding DP

They will probably say no but you may be able to get away with it for a bit. Long term its likely bad for the cat. At least you have an intercooler.

You can run it but its not worth the risk. If you want power safely, we offer custom bm3 maps.

I have Stage 2H flashed with a stock exhaust at the moment. I can tell a difference when I have a test pipe installed both power and sound. I can tell you it runs and drives fine, will it damage the CAT? Dunno time will tell. But I pass emissions with a stage 2H. You still get the pops and burbles, more muted however.

Honestly, just get a fabspeed for AA downpipe catted. The downpipe will give you about the same HP/torque bump as the tune anyways, and of course the tune on top of the downpipe is additive.
