False Alarm V1. Advise please !!

What's up guys.

I just hardwired the V1 with a mirror tap. Everything works great but I keep getting laser false alarm. I found out it's from the gesture control in the car. Sets off the laser alarm constantly. Extremely annoying!!

I'm ready to sell my V1 and scoop up a escort max 360. Escort 360 max owners are there any false alarms with that radar? Does the gesture control set off laser band ?

Thanks !

With some more research I realized Radenso Pro-M is the best one.

Thoughts ?

I owned an Escort 360 Max and it was very chatty and did a poor job w/ BSM filtering. Went with the Radenso Pro-M and could not be happier ... very quiet, best BSM filtering available and good range. No arrows but I really don't miss them at all.

Went through same thing, had V1 with the app for years. Gesture control in the M5 sets off the V1 laser detection as you know. You have options. One is to cut off laser detection on V1 cuz in reality it is letting you know you just got a ticket. No visor detector will warn you in time to avoid laser. You would need ALP for that. Google it.

Another is to tape off the gesture control. There are posts on that here. I found it somewhat ridiculous to put electrical tape on the roof of a $130K car.

The third and this is what I did---get a Radenso Pro M. No problems with gesture control but much more important for me, much less false alarms than my V1 from back up/perimeter sensors on other cars. Its been a great, quiet little detector--highly recommend.

I'd also look at the Uniden R7. I had the V1 and it was time to move on not only because of the gesture control, but the false alarms were high. Had the R3 and now the R7 and couldn't be happier. The R7 has arrows like the V1. It's a little bulky, but when you program it, the thing is silent. You can program it to not alert below a set speed which is cool. No reason to sound off when you are only going 35mph. It will act up a bit around some cars like Acuras, but for the most part it's great. But heard the Uniden guy was moving to Radenso.

Thanks for the response...

Yeah I saw a bunch of cases where they put tape on the sensors. Don't really want to do that on that beautiful interior. Plus the V1 has way too many false alarms. I think the new version is worse with the false alarms than the older ones. Been rocking the v1 for over 10 yrs it's time to move on from it. I hear nothing but great things about this Radenso pro m. I'm going to give it a shot.

That's weird. I have an R3 and have never had a laser alarm. Maybe that means the V1 is better about picking up laser.

My interior is black, so....
V1 wise, sounds like you need an update! Go to the website and put in your serial #, it will tell you if so. The updates eliminate all the false K warnings, that the parking sensors give off on other cars.

Radenso is the current top player in the radar market.

ALP is the leader in laser defense.

Valentine 1 was a great device with a strong history, but it's just not up to date with the latest features and technology anymore.

This guy has the best content out there in regards to Radar. Take some time watching his videos.

Jumped on the bandwagon and just ordered the Radenso Pro M. Coming from the V1 for over 10 years, don't think I will miss the arrows but I definitely won't miss all the false alarms!!

Yep, I had a V1 forever but couldn't stand all the false alarms in my G30. When I got my F90, I decided to ditch the V1 for the Uniden R7. It's been great....it has the arrows and is supposed to have the longest range of any of the radars (including the Radenso). It's pretty much a toss-up between the Radenso and R7 in terms of best radar.

I sure as hell wasn't going to put tape some electrical tape in the interior of my $120k car to cover up sensors....

Blank

Yeah I herd the Uniden R7 is a great one also. It was a toss up between the two.

And I 100% agree with you about the electrical tape !!

OP, do this and you're going to be happy. I have tested and compared my V1 vs 360, Rodenso, and the new Uniden and nothing compares to the range and also ability to be accurate each time with the V1. Turn off laser and you'll be very happy. I did that and then hardwired it to my rear view camera. After all, laser is impossible to beat unless you invest in a laser jammer and then you sill will get pulled over and you will still pay the ticket in court when the camera shows you flying past other cars while the laser is hitting them and you jam it. Judge will laugh and tell you where the cashier is lol.
