OPINION NEEDED: Matte Black Grilles on Monaco? Photoshops included!
I'm wondering what the matte black grilles would look like on a monaco blue E92, as well as the matte black vinyl window trim. I have some photoshops done, with comparisons to the stock chrome. Couldn't find any other member's cars through the search function, so let me know if I overlooked one.
But for the time being, I'd like to ask you all for your opinions!

honestly, in my opinion, I would get it painted to match the car color. I think that would look the best..

With your front grills, I would only consider painting the outside ring of the kidney grills, and paint them to match monaco blue.
My E90 was in monaco blue, and the look of matte black on it was not the greatest. I went through the trouble of swapping out the matte black window trim for chrome window trim because it looked so out of place on a dark blue. While I dislike most chrome, I think the chrome kidneys and window trim look good with monaco blue. |

keep the chrome outline and get the black inside. otherwise, there's not enough contrast. get rid of the chrome around the windows though.

I would definitely do the black out but make sure to black out your window trim as well. On darker colors, I am not a fan of the paint match as it blends in too much. With the matte black, you get the stealth look but some contrast to make it visible.

I'm actually not a fan of paint-matched kidneys, so its either matte black or stay with chrome.. Thanks for your opinions guys

I vote for chrome window trim and grill rings with matte black grills. I like the contrast of having some chrome on monaco and how it compliments the wheels.

I was toying with the idea of carbon fiber kidney and mirror covers and paint match monaco for the window trim. Food for thought.

he has a point, yet matte black grilles make your car look more aggressive. with the monaco, id say chrome is more elegant look and black is sportier.

I HAVE a Monaco Blue E93 and painted the outer ring of the kidney grill only. I have had people stop me and stare at the car and ask if it was M3 or another car. Every one notices the ring as body color. Even where I get it washed and serviced they have commented on it every time. Only do the ring and leave the slats chrome. It's subtle but looks HOT!!! I LOVE IT!!

yeah of course, if I were to do the matte black grilles I'd definitely get the window trim done at the same time. Right now I'm debating if I should keep the chrome or go with the matte. ahh decisions decisions..
