Apologies if this has already been posted.

"Ultimately, the M340i ripped off a 3.8-second zero-to-60-mph sprint and tore through the quarter-mile in 12.3 seconds at 115 mph. If you are wondering, those times are on pace with the last-generation M3."

Got to remember they also introduced the one-foot rollout for their instrument testing, so I believe they said to add anywhere from .2 to .3 seconds to any time they put down for the most accurate numbers, still impressive numbers nonetheless.

There's been a few reviewers and owners with sub 4 second 0-60 times. It certainly feels that way too.

It definitely feels quicker than my previous car, a Q50 rs400, and that had a 0-60 of roughly 4.5s.

That's helpful. So the 1/4 mile times are accurate. Anything that is suppose to be 0-n will be off by .1-.3 seconds.

The RWD version is definitely going to need the Pilot Sport 4s to get that time? I’ve done a few launch controls with the Pzero runflats and the traction back there is not adequate... it doesn’t hook up like a proper performance tire should and I feel like I’m loosing a few tenths to wheel spin in first gear off the line and a few more tenths at the bottom of second gear.

Which version were you using, the summer tires or all-season? I had no issues (in dry weather) with the P ZERO performance summer tires.

I have the P zero performance setup with the 255 rears. Even on a warm day I’ve had to fight the steering wheel a bit to keep it straight on a hard launch, which tells me my rear isn’t hooking up completely. There’s something very satisfying about hooking up on a 1st to 2nd gear shift and have the car push forward without any theatrics. I haven’t had that satisfaction with the Pzero performance. I’m looking forward to getting the PS4s installed.

Will this fake story ever die? BMW is not recalling cars to reprogram them to reduce horsepower! I had 3 recalls done recently (all software updates) and I can assure you that my car accelerates exactly as it did before I brought it in. My car originally had the 03/2019 software and now it has 11/2019.40.

All 3 recalls are fully documented and you can read about what is being reprogrammed and why. There is no secret conspiracy where BMW is robbing you of horsepower.

My last three Daily drivers have been M 3's... The last being a competition package car.

The 340's I've driven feel every bit as fast as any of the M cars. Very smooth and refined too. I think this particular car is a VERY nice daily driver. As close to perfect as one could ask for.

I'm sure the new M3 will be fantastic, but I think the livability of the 340 and the current silly low lease deals make the car very attractive.

I found it impossible to hook up with the tires. Sad Car has 255 sized rubber on the rear.
