Front brake pad wear sensor - both sides?

Searched the forums and online for this and didn't find anything. Maybe I just don't know what keywords to search for.

Was fixing my adaptive headlights this weekend and I noticed that I have a brake wear sensor on driver's side but not the passenger side. This is the first time I've noticed so I thought it was odd. Is this normal? Is there only supposed to be one?
