How many years or miles do you plan to keep your current BMW?
Just wondering how long most was on here keep their bimmers. I know the lease guys probably exchange cars every 3 years. What about people who either buy new or used. I’ve only had mine for a year (bought used) and I plan on keeping it for at least 5 years.

I keep mine until I decide to buy another one. I’m at 57k miles now. I’m not planning on buying another car till 2023. I will give this one to my daughter and in 2023 for my 25th anniversary at work (I need 25 yrs to get a full pension) I’m buying a new hardtop convertible vette for summer and a bmw G20 for winter.

No timetable - it's when I feel like I want another car.
The E90 will remain in the stable until that completely dies (probably won't, damn N52). F36 will likely be a keeper until the next generation MINI Cooper comes out - waiting for that next-gen JCW (not GP3) with 300hp. |

My E46 I had from 80-170k/9yrs. Hopefully the same for my F30 yearwise. Bought it with 58k and at 79k now in 2yrs. I just hope the timing chain doesn't go...

My '17 240i is at 47k after a little over 2.5 years. I bought it to drive the hell out of it. I'll keep it till probably 2024 at least.

I had my 16 228i xdrive conv. for 2 years. Too hard on my back. Otherwise,I don’t know. I’m so upside down on this one,I may need to keep it longer.

No timetable for a change. This is my first fun driving car since my 20's. After decades of 7-8 passenger minivans & big SUVs, empty nesting has its perks! The Ultimate Driving Machine!!! |

Bought new, 2016 F36 428i with 32k miles... plan of keeping 8 to 10 years but depends on how well the exterior and interior age...I might keep it longer than 10 years. I drive 10k miles a year so it might be just 100k in 10 years. 👍

If it weren’t for rust issues I would still have my first car, a 87 528e from 1996 through 2012.
E90 will stay until the wheels fall off. Had it since 2016 and may give it to my son when he starts driving (12 now), though he wants either a e30 325is or a e36 M3. F36 will stay with me until the wheels fall off as well. Next BMW won’t replace either, just love to add to the stable. |

I'm going to keep mine until I really get tired of it or it becomes a money pit. Typically I hang on to cars for 7~10 years.
If current trends in the auto industry continue, I may hang on to the car much longer. The manual transmission alone may tip the scales towards the "keep it longer" side. |

Until the warranty runs out which is very soon! The warranty runs out at 50k and I'm currently at 43k so I expect to hit 50k by then end of December...It's funny to think that around this time last year the car barely had 15k....This car has been driven back and forth from NC to California 8 times since the move (dealing with the old house and other personal things etc and I find driving there FUN). It's even been to Florida twice. So it's been around and mechanically its been fine but the electronics can't seem to work right.

Probably seven years unless I get tired of it. I have the four years BMW warranty and three additional years through GEICO's mechanical breakdown insurance. So I am protected from major repair costs for up to seven years.

15k on it now. Probably keep it until the point I'm adding a quart of oil every month, or until stock Camerys are beating me off the line. I still regret selling my E39 530i with about 128k on it.

Bought a 2018 6 speed manual zhp last year...8000 miles so far. I still have my 85 Saab Turbo so this BMW may well see me out. May consider an electric Mini Cooper for my wife to replace her 2013 Cooper S 6 speed.... maybe.

I'm hoping to keep my 2014 F34 until BMW brings back reasonably sized grills. So probably a long, long time.

I still have my first BMW, my 323i 2000, 243K miles. I will have owned it for 20 years in February 2020. So I guess my answer is a long time! Bought my 435i last year, I plan on at least 10 years.

Till it hits 200k or 16 years old.
Then I’ll buy a 3-4 year old wagon and start again. |

My Audi has been in my posession for soon 8 years. Do the math.
I like bonding with my belongings There will always be something newer and better. There are no decent EVs. Nothing decent about the concept either.

Just turned 38,000 miles OEM Bridgestone Dueller runflats on it, just about wore out. I'll keep this beast for at least 100K...barring anything crazy happening after warranty. |
