Oil reset unsuccessful

Had the dealer do an oil change, and they couldn’t do the reset. It was past due for the change on mileage, but before the service date. They blamed it on the JB4. So my searching has come up with a software update, a bad sensor, or service date. I changed the date on the car, and disconnected the JB4. Nothing is working. Any ideas that I’m missing will be greatly appreciated. It’s a 2016 f30 Msport

Thank you

Service interval updates are done in iDrive, in the vehicle information section. A JB4 shouldn't affect it.

It won’t let me update the service intervals either.

Your oil level sensor is defective... The oil reading status would get up to 50% and then freeze.

Happened to me but I didn't mine; I got two free oil change within 1,000 of each other because dealer #1 just left the CBS as is, i.e due for an oil change after the service and dealer #2 replaced it a second time and provided a loaner car, while the part was on backorder for a week.

If you're under warranty, make an appointment and have the dealer check it.
