10-15L shy?
Anyone feel that the fuel tank is 10L or 15L off what it should be, when you get around 220 miles per tank it gets boring at the pump.

I'll normally stop to fill-up at about 350 miles, but always have an indicated buffer of over 150 left in the tank.
This car can achieve exceptional mileage if left in either of the first two automatic shift positions. Manual shifting will dramatically reduce mileage. Probably because I'm an old man, I don't need to be pushing the limits like some of you younger owners. Also, I drive on mostly rural roads, so my mileage shouldn't be considered typical. |

Yep. It's the same size as the E60 M5, which people complained about. They increased the fuel tank size in the F10 M5, which made people happy and now decreased it back again in the F90

I’ve cleared 800 km (500 miles) 3 times in a single tank; all open highway at essentially legal speeds. It should be noted that all 3 tanks were before the car had 3,000 miles on it. I’m now at 8000 miles and getting more like 700 km per tank. I guess I’m driving it harder as I go along.

The biggest barriers to good mileage are - shifting manually, traffic, high "sustained" speeds, short trips (especially in cold weather) that don't let the car warm-up. My normal drives avoid all these pitfalls.
My rear tires are ready for replacement, so I'm not babying this thing. |

I will get around 570 km while really having fun, I am impressed! I am at or below 11L - the car is not even broken in and I was maybe only 25% on the highway. I can only imagine what this car could do when broken in and having a trip on a highway at legal speeds.

I know my circumstances won't apply to everybody, but at least this shows that a big V8 with a proper automatic can still provide surprisingly good mileage. |
