335D Engine Suspension Lug to Hold Engine
Hey Everyone,
I am looking to replace my engine mounts and my oil pan gasket at the same time. To do that, I will need to temporarily support the engine from the top with an engine support bar. The BMW instructions shows that there is a point on the front of the engine "Front Suspension Lug" to support the engine with. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ctions/I6aIpDR Could someone tell me where I can buy a lug with loop on the end of it that fits our diesels? I can't seem to find this information and don't want to buy the wrong size. Thanks for the help. |

I answered my own question. I found a picture online and there should already be a loop installed on the engine to hook up a hook on to on the front of the engine just behind and above the EGR Cooler.
Sorry for the troubles. |

This is what I used to support the engine when I replaced the two engine mounts.
https://www.harborfreight.com/1000-l...ne+support+bar When I tried to lift to engine straight up, I could not get enough clearance in order to get the engine mounts out. I had to partially lift the engine with the bar, and then tilt the engine left and then right using a floor jack with a piece of wood pushing the engine mount brackets. |
