Ring and Pinion is what decides your final ratio. If you're rocking RWD, just slap it on and go. It will make difference between your indicated speed vs real speed.
But BMW comes with that OE already with 6.4% difference on mine, lol. Maybe it will fix it. You can also save money, get the diff for $750 on eBay etc, pop it into your open diff or similar open diff for dirt money off eBay (to reduce down time). You will need to adjust and ensure gear lash is good. Take it to a shop. |

Its a tool you can use to calibrate your speedometer without fucking with your odometer, like you would if you were to use tire size. You can also use it to make your MPG gauge into an oil temp gauge. |

I'll check out the speed. It's still 1% off even with 235/45/18 tires 😃 Bimmer Code and Carly apps couldn't do it on US cars. |

MT 3,08 v. 3,46 AT is some 12% difference...
I’ve went from 2,93 to 3,15 (manual and lighter chassis though), it was just easier to drive out from a dead stop, not a game changer... The same later on when I changed the diff from 3,15 to 3,23... minor performance gain, more acceleration, higher revs at given speed on a highway... I think it won’t be a huge gap to give you any technical issues... apart from possible mismatch of values in rpm/speed tables for AT... I know from other platforms that modern Bmw check those values, I am not sure about e9x...
