Goodbye Luxury Line!

I was never happy with the luxury line package on my car so instead of regretting the look all the time I decided to install an Mtech aftermarket kit. Picked up the kit locally in LA and delivered it to a paintshop for paint and installation. Fitment was perfect! Here are some before and after pics..

I truly wonder how many people prefer that look. I never see them in the wild.

Yeah luxury line is rare on a 4 series. Seen it on a couple of F30s around town but rarely on a F32. I use to try justifying that my car was unique in that regard (fooling myself). Guess now I can still say that my car is unique since you couldn't even pair the M Performance package with mineral white metallic paint, BMW never offered that option!

I like how the bumper comes with the reflectors deleted.

Might as well wrap the roof and debadge!

Lol I promised my fiance I am done. I'm hoping she will not see the subtle chrome delete. Can't hide wrapping the roof unless she was a midget lol.. guess I can argue the badge fell off!

Local seller was offering $650 for the Mtech M Sport kit or $800 for the M Performance kit (extra front lip, side skirt extensions, decals and better diffuser). Savings on tax and shipping (paid cash and local pickup). I chose the M Performance one for the extras. Took it to a local paint shop who paints alot of BMWs and got it painted and installed for $1500 cash. $2300 out the door and it was well worth it. Gotta be careful with three stage paint, not anybody can do it well. The bodyshop knew my paint code (A96) right when I got out of my car. If anybody from the LA/OC area is interested in the shops I used, shoot me a PM.

Enjoy. I've learned my lesson in the past about not getting the options you want when choosing a car. . Good job on getting it done.

People usually say happy wife happy life, I say happy man happy wife

Just warp it now and say the shop threw it in to sweeten the deal.

Would you mind to share which shop you used? My best friend in LA can use a good body shop soon.

I'm not a fan of chrome, none on my car but it looks good on yours, the chrome lip of the wheels matches the chrome on windows and also the front grill, they complement each other really well. Nothing sticks out like a sore thumb But yeah, now with the front lip and spoiler, chrome delete is kinda necessary.

Looks good! I actually grew to really like my luxury line once I made a few changes to enhance the look (adding gloss black accents on white)

I actually prefer chrome if done tastefully (like on BMWs and the new Volvos).

Tell your friend to check out New Life Auto in Fullerton.

She is not my wife yet (5 more weeks!). I'm doing all this work to my car as my last symbol of complete freedom

Thanks! It is funny how my girl and I are planning to move to OC next year, with Fullerton being our top choice.

Congrats! I feel you, I have been taking advantage to get my wish list approved by her before I pop the question.

Tastefully to me is solid aluminum/metal details. Plastic trim covered in chrome appliques, especially on top of regular black plastic like aorund the lower grilles, looks pretty bad. Especially up close where you see parting lines and other defects in the finish. And it needs to flow, not be randomly tacked on as an accent to bumpers and fenders.

I don't observe it that up close. From a few feet away where the minute 'defects' aren't apparent, it looks good to me. When used conservatively to accentuate certain areas of the car, I like it.
