Dealer software updates.

Out of interest, those of you who have had dealer software updates, did you take your car in for other matters and get the update. Or did you take it in specifically for a software update?

My dealer is in denial that there's an update for the car because whatever site they're entering my VIN into is telling them that it's up to date (03/2019.60).

So, it seems without another reason to take it in, I'm stuck with my current version for the time being.

When did you collect your car? There have been some discussions on the forum indicating that newer G20's might have different hardware enabling certain features.

I'm wondering if BMW are running two (or more) software branches to accommodate differing hardware which might account for the 03/2019 vs. 07/2019 versions.

Has anyone running 03/2019 had it upgraded to 07/2019? If not I'd suggest they may relate to the hardware.

Production date is 26/04/19 but it wasn't registered until end of June.

There is some slight differences between MY19 and MY20 builds for example drive recorder and the enhanced view on driving assistance package.

Which is probably why the softwares are different.

To get squeeky/rattling sunroof fixed and Connected Drive commands lockout.

Was it the sunroof or the blind that was squeaking/rattling ?

Mine came on after having the car for 2 weeks.

I did the reset procedure mentioned in the original thread and it went away.

Like most, it’ll probably come back as it’s looking like it’s a bug in the latest idrive firmware.

It was the seals on the sunroof itself, not the blind.

They applied something to the seal and reset the mechanism itself and it's been perfectly silent since.
