Warranty procedure questions

Anyone has experience with BMW’s warranty procedure or know if dealer will let customer keep the old part?

No they will not.

They are usually returned to BMW as they are randomly tested to make sure Dealership is not pulling fast one.

If wanted old oil, spark plugs, filters etc, I am sure they would give you that.

They may want old parts to see what failed and if it is a design flaw occurring on other cars that may require a recall.

The part that triggered the claim is the screen, and dealer is replacing both screen and HU. Trying to see if I can keep the HU as there is nothing wrong with it (as far as I know).

As stated, under normal circumstances - parts removed under warranty for replacement at the dealer are NOT returned to customer
