Cabin filter

So my 435 has 70000 miles on it and the maintenance schedule says to replace the Cabin micro filter. They are pretty pricey to have replaced and I was wondering how often you guys think its actually necessary to replace it? Also it is an easy job to do myself?

If you're a contortionist, maybe. I can see how it wouldn't be so bad if the car was up on a lift, but with the car on the ground it's a bit challenging.

I forget that I have a convertible which makes it easier. I change it with the top down so I can hang upside down. I’m used to that from changing a resistor in my Oldsmobile every year for years back in the day.

The real annoyance is the curved placement and cover.

Really easy to change yourself. Definitely do it every year. Photos show cabin filter that I use for my F30 335. High quality and reasonable price. You'd have to see if the part number is different for your car.

UPDATE: Got the dreaded Bimmerpost attachment bug again so cant show you photos. It's the CORTECO micronAir cabin air filter that I am using. Highest quality for reasonable price.
