BMW F30: Any way to make rwd without spending $150????

I have a '18 340i XDrive, I want to make it rwd so I can have a little fun, but I also don't want to spend $150 on XDelete. I've heard of some ppl removing a fuse from the fuse box and removing fuse #32 and removing that causes it to not send power to the transfer case, and that all they got was a warning sign. This wouldn't be permanent, but does anyone know how to make a 340i rwd?????

When I look at fuse #32 it shows an icon of someone with a seatbelt on and the fuses I think in 18 got moved to the trunk of the car if that makes a difference.

I'd spend the $150, its not all that much. If you need to, save up. If you go rwd you will just do burnouts and then need new tires and spend more :-)

If he cannot spend $150 on XDelete, he really won't be able to pay for new tires.

Confused here on how you can afford a 2018 340 xdrive but don't want to spend the 150 on xdelete? Or why you didn't just get a rwd car?

Remove the front axles and wheels. Costs $0 dollars. Proceed to have fun.

So much hate on this forum, people behind keyboards and anonymity are the worst kind. I am here with popcorn interested in a solution to getting a rear wheel biased drive setting. I elected awd for its help in he snow but when its dry and warm out miss the rear wheel drive fun. What is the 150 option that some have mentioned?

Edit: found the info here https://www.xdelete.app/xdelete_faq.pdf

Seems you can switch between awd and rwd via an app after programming? Thats cool but would rather be able to change it on the fly via a button in car, similar to sport mode. Does anyone have programming ideas to make this happen?

It's not that I can't afford xdelete im just saying is it worth the $150, where it's perfect, no error codes pop up, and that I can not have to worry about something becoming irreversible from doing this.

I am aware the M5 has this as a feature, but believe it or not, I dont want to buy an M5. Especially if I can get this behavior from my existing 440i, after some software coding and some cleverness. Call me crazy call me a dreamer

You cannot get it on the fly with a simple button on your 440i.

Though you could spend 5 figures and have someone build that solution for you.

That's the difference in $150 software and a m5 f90 or custom 440i transmission.

Spend the $150. And then you’ll need the cable and adapter too. It’s less than $200 total. Just buy it and use it. I’m waiting for spring to buy it.

If you're looking for short cuts...honestly, BMW is not for you.

FAR too expensive to correct the "SHIT!!" shoulda-coulda-woulda moments.

Well for the people that have or experienced xdelete could you tell a big difference at the start and was there any problems with it right after you installed it?
