If it's at your dealer, then they'd perform a PDI following the BMW checklist, which basically means inspect for shipping damage, remove shipping blocks, remove the plastic on the inside, check the vehicle from top to bottom, activating nav, BMW assist/connect, full tank to gas, fluids, etc.
Just some of what you dealer does, which can take a day or two depending on your dealer. Some owners prefer to have a detailer prep (PPF, ceramic coating) and don't have their dealer remove the shipping plastic covering the outside, or wash and clean.
