No Digital Compass on BMW X1 ?

Hi,

Is all BMW X1/X2 has the Digital Compass by default?

My sister's 2016 BMW X1 seems to not have it... or maybe is just turned off?

Our 2019 has the rear-view mirror with Homelink buttons and there's a digital compass display in the mirror.

2020 has it as an option to display in the iDrive menu in the Navigation pane instead of the mini-map.

Heum... is something different on the 2016 vs 2019 ?

It's the same generation right?

I wondering if it's an option to get it or it's there by default...

Same generation but in Canada it may only be the the Homelink mirror (aka Universal Remote Control) that has the compass, and it was optional in 2016 as part of the Executive Package. In 2019 it’s still optional (although now it’s part of the Premium Package Enhanced).

Thank you! We don't have any button on the rear view mirror... I guess she doesn't have the digital compass on it..

Yeah, even the non-Homelink compass mirror should have a small button on the bottom for calibrating the compass and setting the language. But, it’s probably something you could buy and switch out, although she’d really have to want it in order to make it worthwhile!

My 2018 X1 has an iDrive setting to display a compass on the Main Menu, instead of a map.

This is my normal setting because, if I want to see a map, then I want to see it larger on full/split screen.
