What Exhaust System to get for E90 328i

As the title says, I thinking of getting an exhaust system for my 328i. However, I'm looking for an exhaust system that isn't really loud when the windows are up. And I'm look for one with a exotic tone to it. Not just the usually loud fart can sound.

I have tried a magnaflow on my old mazda3 b4, and I found it abit too loud. Like the stock exhaust isn't too bad, I just need something with abit more tone to it, if u know wat i mean...

Julius@WheelSTO has an E90 328i Race performance in stock. It has a nice deep tone. Videos are in the link.

I think it really depends on how much you are willing to spend. Eisenmans seem to sound very nice and not too loud but cost a lot. You can try Ikon exhaust, which I think is a very nice one. And again, you can always do exhaust deletion!!!

I am not worried about cost at the moment, I just want to know wat are my options. I will worry about cost, when I get a good handle on which i want.

I am more concerned on how it sounds inside the car with the windows up? Cause I usually have passengers at the back. And they don't like loud sounds.

With eisenmann, you're getting a name and a pretty well-backed product. Sounds sick. However, with a custom exhaust, you can get the same sound, if not better, with your performance needs in mind. I got a custom cat-back stainless steel 3.0 inch diameter exhaust for $850 with stainless quad tips. Sounds menacing and the lower end backs it too.

thats good to know, however I don't any store here in vancouver that does custom exhaust for 328i. And if I go with custom exhaust I can't really see how it sounds until it is actually installed in the car. Like for the amount of money im spending, I pretty much need to know that I'm getting the sound and performance I am looking for. Cause ones its done and I don't like the sound there is no turning back.

also, another question is if I were to get a Simota CAI. Like when they release the new one. What exhaust would u recommend, cause I heard it gets pretty loud if u have a aftermarket CAI and exhaust.

for not too loud, i had a Remus Powersound. It has 3 settings that you can change to make it loud, medium or softer. It was nice but I ditched it cuz I wanted it loud all the time so I did the muffler delete.

check it out, I got it from Bavauto and the price wasn't too bad, bout half as much as the eisenmann

I am pretty sure it is a full, but I may be wrong.

BTW, there is th IKON exhaust. It is basically a muffler swap.

i prefer a full set, rather than a muffler swap

eisenmann race or sport exhaust is not a full system. you need to get the eisenmann sr pipes if you want full cat back system or straight pipes. wheelsto has one instock so you dont have to wait.

i have the RE ikon. costed under 500 after install/shipped. i got it used from a seller here. I will let you have a listen tmmmrw when i come visit you haha.

imo , really good exhaust if you want a bit more "rumble" in your e90, but wont make your ears bleed during daily driving. many have complimented the subtle sound of the exhaust, compared to the fart cannons that roam around Richmond lol.

also, i am also after some performance gain. Cause as far I heard changing just the muffler just creates the sound, and doesnt give u any gain. Im not 100% sure on this. Please share ur insight.

it might relieve some back pressure but its mostly for sound.

muffler delete would be the best gain if there is any.

I think for most "sport" systems, such as BMW's, you can expect 5hp at most. I'm hesitant to spend over $1000 for just 5hp and a louder tone.

I don't know about fuel economy gains, anybody notice anything significant?
