Ebay Cold Air Intake REVIEW $180
I decided to give the ebay cold air intake a shot. Just as with F80 Rep Fenders that i decided to test for yall, i am doing the same for the intake.
Benefits: -Price -You can use any Cone filter you'd like. (Seller forgot to include K&N Filter) -Looks just like the expensive CAI's Cons: -Paint chips off if you hit or bang the metal parts around, including the tube, box, and box cover. Honestly, can remedy this with some rhino liner that i have laying around. The paint finish is actually really nice and glossy, its just my oil hands were touch everything. I have a boosted corvette and supercharged silverado. From all my experience with these two vehicles. A cold air intake is nothing but a metal tube connected to a filter. Only difference being that the stock intake system is engineered around noise control as well as performance without the noise. I would argue that the stock system is well better engineered than any aftermarket cold air intake on stock system; however, will help in heavily modded engines. This ebay intake i received in blue, since it was the lowest priced option vs black and red. I dont care much since its hidden away. I used a cone filter i had laying around ill be putting a K&N cone filter as soon as the seller sends it. Finally, i didnt feel any horse power difference. Neither did my buddy that has the injen intake. Like i mentioned before, its mainly for looks and noise i suppose. I have a diverter valve, and i posted a review in the diverter valve thread. The diverter valve was near silent and couldnt hear it at all. Now with this intake, the diverter valve flutter sounds incredibly loud. Loud enough that people will turn to see the vehicle. I will upload a video of the sound. Will not dissappoint. Hope it will save yall a couple hundred bucks from these over priced cold air intakes. If you decide to take the cheap route. I know many believe in the expensive vehicle expensive parts, but id suggest to not let that fool you just because you have a BMW. Last edited by SMiGGs; 10-08-2019 at 04:19 PM.. |

Thanks for the link! I'd been watching this intake on Ebay for months now. It's a way better price than the injen, and looks to be made just as well..however, I hadn't heard/read any first hand reviews from owners until I came across yours. Im convinced that it's worth pulling the trigger now.
