Bad vibration when braking

I was feeling some vibration under heavy braking. Tried re-bedding and seemed to smoothen out. However today on the track I got bad judder / vibration and getting worse. Lots of brake dust too. Tech guys at the track suggested replacing pads and rotors. My instructor said there’s bad pitting suggesting pads can’t handle heat and deterioration. Hence, Bought new pads and rotors from dealer and can install before tomorrow’s 2nd day on track.

However, I installed new Zimmerman rotors and Jurid pads earlier this year. Only put 6,000 miles on them. After track day I didn’t notice much judder braking hard on highway but feels like I do have to push brakes a little further than before track day. Is it possible to need to replace already? Could it be something else causing vibration?

How many miles are on your front control/trust arms?

I am having the same issue. Light braking is no issue but a hard break from 80mph I get some serious wobble and steering feedback. If the control arms are suspect, is there a good aftermarket/OEM (m3?) alternative?

MOOG is good aftermarket brand, but i dont think they make the front rearward control arm as an assembly, they just sell the bushing for it.

Not sure. When I replaced front rotors and brake pads it significantly improved. Only minor vibration.

Not sure I'm understanding why you're even asking about this. Stock brakes work great, on the street. They can't take the abuse of a track for very long. I remember going through 2 sets of EBC pads on a MkI GTI at Gingerman. Not a very high speed track, and the car had bigger brakes than stock. An E9x will eat through stock pads in no time.

calipers going bad/stuck? had same problems over the past months, replaced rotors & pads but no better. after swapping my stock calipers for new/refurbished ones all vibrations are gone.

mine had 150k miles on the clock
