Thrust Arm Installation on xdrive Ques.

Maybe someone can offer a better technique?
I'm in the middle of installing new Thrust Arms / Control arms.

First moving the front drive axle out of the way for clearance to remove and replace the Thrust Arm was a bit of a wrestling match. Then trying to line up the gear teeth from the drive axle to the wheel bearing was not an easy visual confirmation as the Bentley Manual shows.
I couldn't see the teeth and relied on the feel of the teeth being properly meshed and the axle moving with the wheel.

Is there an easier way to do this job?

Thanks
