Onboard vehicle tool kit

The Owner's Manual states, "The onboard vehicle tool kit is located under the cargo floor panel." No details or pictures are provided as to what this entails.

On my 2019 xdrive, I found a piece of black styrofoam with the tow hook embedded. Looks like there was supposed to be more tools underneath the tow hook in the cavity and also looks like maybe this was supposed to be secured to the velcro strap at the back of the under cargo floor cavity.

Just trying to be sure I received what I was supposed to with this car.

Yes, the styrofoam is supposed to be secured by that strap. On our 2019 there’s a screwdriver under the tow hook and a spot to store the key for the wheel locks.

Are you stating there is molded styrofoam section under the carpeted storage section in the rear of the X1? I read there was a fog light removal tool supplied with vehicle somewhere but couldn't find it.

There is a styrofoam block secured to the back of the under cargo floor cavity by the velcro strap. Mine has a tow hook depressed into it, but I understand a screwdriver should have been under the tow hook and then if you had wheel locks, the wheel lock key would also be pressed into the block.

Yeah, I didn't even know about its' existence, until a friend of mine showed me it. It happens all the time to me, that whenever I buy a new car, there always will be a feature or option which I don't know about, until someone will tell me about it. Everything comes with experience, and now because it's summer, I found some nice wheels which I wanna buy from Fleet Up Marketplace, because I wanna go for a road trip with my family, and want to prepare everything in order to avoid any unpleasant situation which can happen on the road.

I do miss the fully kitted toolkit my 325i had. Too bad BMW has stopped including that with their vehicles.

Flashlight was nice in concept, but not bright enough to be useful (IMO). USA cars never included the first aid kit AFAIK.

My wife X1 has tow hook, screw driver and alloy key.

Only became aware it was there as it took me 30 mins to find it one day when changing a wheel.🤦

I was able to get first aid kit, front & rear all weather mats, and wheel locks included with my purchase. I dont think the first aid lit is standard though, but it has some decent supplies beyond a basic booboo bandaid kit.

Our X1 came with foam box under trunk. Air compressor, can of tyre foam for puncture repair and tow eye with screw driver handle with reversible shaft, one end Phillips and other end flat blade. Nothing else.
No spare tyre in space, no car jack and no wheel, nut brace.
From Australia- no run flat, just normal summer star embossed tyres.

When you purchase a new X1 (in the UK) then you specify what you want. The space saver kit is £150 and comes with jack and wheel brace, but no tyre foam puncture kit. Also, you cannot now purchase run flats in the UK because standard rubber ones are supplied, so in my view it is best to specify the space-saver spare wheel.
