Mine has been delayed for weeks. Waiting on the oil filter. Scheduled it at 600miles. At 2100 miles and still waiting.

I'll start enquiring now even though I'm a good 6 weeks away from 1200 miles

I don't understand the hold up on parts for this service. I scheduled mine a week ahead of time and dropped it off like any other time I've needed anything. If I were you I'd call around. Any dealer can do your service.

That is BS. I know multiple dealers who have performed this service and still perform It with no delays. I'd make a stink about It and force their hand.

?? BMW is struggling to price the service? Never heard that one before.

Tell them it should be free unless they can prove otherwise.

Previous break in services for M cars have been £200-£300, I expect the X3M requires rare oils only found on mars, hence the crazy price.

Full service likely to be around £1000 then...

How were you able to use LC for your Dragy passes? Does this M car let you do LC's prior to break in service/LC "un-lock"?

My service guy also stated, in addition to the oil and fluids being changed, they put the computer in "full M mode". There are rev limiters and such to protect the car. I know before my service I had to have driven about 100 yards before my "M buttons" on the wheel would engage. After the service I can just pop'm when I hit start. No hold up on parts. Made appointment, same week, easy peasy. There is a recall on the software for the backup camera. I had mine done at the same time.

Anyone know which oil this uses? I'm wondering if it's the same LL-14+ 0w 20 that the M40i takes...

Lmao; just had my X3MC done this past Thursday and this thing digs deep! It's so fast and the exhaust note on a hard acceleration is crazy cool! Apparel they do unlock something in the computer that holds the vehicle back while it's breaking in....no joke this feels as fast as my '17 X5M. These are a real bargain.
