20inch wheels on M50d

Any reason why I couldn't run a set of 20inch wheels on my M50d which currently has 22inch on it? Keen to utilise all-season tyres.

Sport Brake Discs too big etc?

Cheers,

John

Generically, 20" can work, but there are a lot of parameters to get right for a proper fit, particularly for the front with M Sport brake. If you're getting 20" wheels specifically spec'd for G05 X5 with M Sport brake, either from BMW or otherwise, I am sure those will have been pre-matched. But if doing your own, you need to immerse yourself into the measurements, test fit before buying, and be ready to deal with spacers for front and different size spacer for rear if square setup, with matching bolts lengths.

As an illustration only (not a recommendation), I am going with the later approach for winter setup: aftermarket 20" x 9.5" rims square, haven't finished everything yet, but pretty certain what I have will work but will require 15mm spacers for the front and 22.5mm (ish) spacers for the rear for the rims I got.

I run style 740 M 20" winter setup on my M50d, so it is definitely possible. No problem with space for brakes. They did, however, try to fit 19", but that wasn't possible, so could be an issue with narrow 20" rims.
