Paint Prep in a new car...

Hi guys ... quick question ... what's the best paint prep plan for a new car? A few questions/confirmation on steps:

1 - Any issues w new paint having to cure before waxing/sealing?
2 - do you need to clay bar a brand new car?
3 - follow with glaze polish?
4 - sealant?
5 - finishing polish?

Thoughts? Reco on products? Leaning towards maguires for each step?

Appreciate any help.

Each car differs upon delivery. My rig had swirls in a few spots that needed correcting. My wife’s sat on the lot for ~8 months and I had to clay the shit out of the thing to get it smooth.

Assuming you don’t need correction, claying never hurt anyone before final prep.

Glaze isn’t polish...It’s like another color depth adder (like wax or sealant). Depending on the sealant and the color of your car it might be overkill.

If its black (or really dark) then you might benefit from the following (in order):
Clay
Paint correction (Polish or compound depending on severity), followed by finishing polish
Wax
Glaze
Ceramic coat

Ive got phytonic blue and thought it looked pretty good after just a seal following the polishing stage using chemical bro’s jetseal.

In terms of products, Meg’s pro line is great. Also like Adams polishes, Chemical brothers, and Mezerna (I think they have a new name now like Jezcal).

Check out detailersdomain and look at their blogs of corrections and you’ll get some ideas for the right routine.

You might want to check out this part of the forum;

And you might find it useful to watch the video that MystroX5 has posted here;

Concept video on how and why you wash and prep paint. Also PPF info.

Thanks guys. I'm getting a custom build, so I should be getting my car 2 weeks after build completion.
