Does anyone know if 2019 will get this or is it exclusive to 2020?

we will find out. I asked the dealer to put that version of software on my X5 since it's in the shop (07/2019.38)

Pretty sure there aren't any hardware changes. I'm hoping this will be a software update

X2. It’s all a software update. Think Android smart phone firmware update and you get how easy display themes can change in the new iDrive 7.

I don't think this is tied to the idrive software. I'm assuming the instrument cluster has a different software. I'm on the latest software (7/2019.39) and I don't have that

This is probably from a Test Drive unit that was for evaluation purpose only. Its called "Assisted Drive View" I remember there was a video on youtube about it. Below is the link to the post I made on the X07 Forums about it.

I am planning to post some footage of it in action. There seems to be some other subtle changes vs my previous G05.

My previous was at 3/2019.48 and at the time still did not have the experience, caring care and climate rules I had hoped for after each update. It would be nice to see this make it's way to the 19s. If I stilled owned a 19 and this update did not make it, I'd probably be seriously pissed and ask what the point of the remote software upgrade feature was.

I'm on the latest 07/2019 software and don't have that. Hopefully it'll be in an upgrade.

Thanks for posting the videos.
How do you enable/toggle the 'Assisted Drive View' and the Map view?

My wife’s 2020 x5 40i has it. You have to check a box in the instrument panel settings.

According to the discussion in this thread https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1648557
the option for enabling the Assisted Drive View does not exists for the 2019s that have been upgraded to a 07/2019.xx version.

It may become available later, just like the caring car and experience features. I went through the updates on the previous 50i hoping they would install and never did. I think some people got the caring car and experience apps with the 3/2019 update.

yeah I just got them with the last update not that they're useful, which they aren't. there are some small don't changes, a little HUD change while using cruise control, and some menu phrasing but that's really it

I was mainly wanted the climate rules to vent the seats when using remote start. The experience and caring care are pretty cool gimmicks though.

Did you happen to ask the service guys why some had those features at 3/2019 and others with nothing until the 7 release?

they had no explanation, I also asked about anti dazzle (does yours work from the factory) and they said it's all dependent on your chassis code and options for everything. this is their highest service guy who's been there for 20+ years and was actually very nice to speak with
