Logged the X3M Competition Boost Profile Today. Baby makes BOOOOOOST !

Was surprised at the peak boost vs the BMW tech paper. This was just a "roll on" to WOT starting in 1st gear. No Launch Control yet until I get a few more miles.

Engaged and Logged Launch Control but did not launch. Totally different animal vs the BMW F90M5. M5 hits immediately and you have to launch as soon as the Flag appears or it spins all four tires and short shifts second gear, which slows the 0-60mph et.

X3M needs about 3 seconds to build rpm and boost since the DME limits the rpm to 2600 max. DME is targeting 10.5psi for the launch. The Magazines that test the X3M that do not allow it (don't understand) to "boost up" will get slower ET's. I was guilty of that as well on the M Day test. With 2 people in their X3M I launched it like my M5 and probably left on 5psi of boost. Plus 4000FT DA plus my bad launch still netted a 3.9 second 0-60mph....this thing will move out if launched properly!!! I'm hoping for a 3.6

Would love to see a 2000rpm 3rd/4th gear roll on to the redline

Thanks for sharing your results. 3.6s seems realistic based on everything shared to date (IND's dyno and 1/4 mile and your weight and numbers).

I'm surprised boost gauge doesn't come standard in a gauge cluster from factory

Anyone else think this thing runs crazy lean on boost? WOT in 3rd and only around 14.1. Target should be 12.1 minimum(in my book anyway). Maybe also why timing up the revs is low as well. Only 11 deg at 7000rpm

Yes but that’s what the engineers at M division tuned it at - same thing with the B58, runs pretty lean from the factory.

If you’re worried about something breaking, I think the 4 years of developing the engine will provide you with assurance 👍🏼

No not worried stock. I am going Bootmod3 and deffo won’t be running that lean. I will be aiming for 12.1 at the very least. Running at 14.1 must be leaving free power on the table. Very interesting.

My C7 RS6 was around 11.8 -12.1 from factory. Amazing difference between manufacturers

Direct injected engines read leaner than port injected engines.

If you go wot from a stop and run it out for a 1/4 mile you will see that it drops to low 12 ‘s. AFR is now based on load, IAT,EGT model, etc. Much more sophisticated than boost vs rpm base. Especially DI. My Porsche is the same.

Correct, non winter tires in chilly weather on a street surface. This was the first time this car was launched as well.

You guys are so crazy. Launching without DSC on a frozen road in winter in those Michelin summer tires is risky af.
