NBT EVO OABR to Ethernet Cable Diagram
I'm looking to make my own coding cable sinve I've got the oabr connector and cat5 or 6 depending what is needed. Does anyone out there happen to know what the pins need to be in order to have this work directly to an ethernet cable? I'll be coding from my laptops ethernet port with the stereo plugged into the car (everything but oabr obviously).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

vilord vilord actually had the pinouts for everything written up in the development thread. A huge thanks to him and especially Nickco43 from that thread.

For the ATM cable, the factory uses a single 18 or 20 gauge twisted pair of stranded wire, not the typical 28 gauge tiny stuff you'll find in cat5/6 ( it follows the BroadR-Reach/100base-T1 standards ).
I used the thickest shielded cat5/6 cable I could find, which I think was 24g, but even that is super thin and more likely to snap over time due to vehicle vibration/motion... just something to keep in mind when choosing cable. And don't use solid wire, it'll break way too quick. |

oh, also, at least some of the eNBT emulators when active seem to interfere with the coding ethernet port.
I found that a bunch of the time my laptop would not connect. just some extra weirdness to make it more fun! |
