Curious about adjustable ride height

Been searching for adjustable ride height setting, but didn't see it covered before. Some questions I have in mind:
  • Does the suspension automatically lower at some threshold speed or with sport setting?
  • Does it go back to default height when the car is started or does it stay at previously set height?
  • Does it remember the manually set height by GPS location (like Tesla)?
  • What is the range of travel from the highest to the lowest setting?

TIA

1) yes. When you hit 85 mph it lowers. I think it lowers in sport mode regardless of speed

2) all settings go back to default comfort mode after car is turned off

3) No

4) 40mm from max height to min height.

Here's the 2-axle height logic. It will always revert to Normal ride height until 87mph:

If you adjust to +40mm, the highest ride height, it will only stay in that height until 18mph. Good for extreme off-roading or fording through high water.

+20mm until 27mph.

-10mm, auto lowering, is 87 to 124mph only in Dynamic. It's not driver selectable and you will not be informed when it auto lowers to this level

-20mm Sport mode - manually selectable and will stay until you park and turn off the X5

-40mm is Load only

If it has +40 and -40, does this mean the full travel is 80 mm or 3.15"?

According to the doc yes, +40 for off-road and -40 for loading.

While driving on the highway at ~ 120 km/h and ride height shows in the middle of the scale, I could actually lower the car one notch down. I did not try 2nd time but suppose I could go for one more.
