G20 a rare bird in London?

Had my 330i M-Sport over 2 months now and although living not far from a Main Dealer have not seen one other G20 on the streets.

Yup! Got one in the show room but there’s nothing about otherwise!

So am a little surprised. Brexit possibly? Don’t think so as when I ordered in March, was immediately offered a £1600 discount via a freebi add-on. Most unusual for a new model on the market and when I mentioned to the Sales Rep he brushed it aside and said they were selling well.

Anybody seen another G20 on the road?
Hope you have!

I live near Windsor and 8ve owned my G20 for two months two
I've seen 4 or 5 G20s around here, still rare in my books
Saying that I'm in London everyday and I haven't seen one there yet

I've seen plenty. In fact I'm on a hotel tonight on business and another one is parked next to me.

I don't think they're selling that well. I drive 2000 miles a month up/down the M5/6 and I'm lucky if I see one per leg + they are all blue or white! The fact that some people are getting their's delivered within a month of ordering would back this up.

Anyone know what % of 3 series have been company cars historically? I'm guessing it's a decent number.

With new company car tax rules I can't see many people paying £400/month in BIK tax + £350/month in lease costs for a 320d/i. That is a major outlay for a £35k car. Also the WLTP-focused packages mean you end up paying for stuff you don't want, which might put people off.

I guess a lot of people may be holding off expensive commitments given the current political uncertainties too...

The one thing I'm not looking forward to when my G20 arrives is the BMW "brand" factor. People are generally courteous in my Mondeo, can only assume I'm not going to be let out in traffic so often!? ;-)

When I bought my G20 a month ago the salesman at the dealership said it was the first one he had sold . Did not like to ask how long he had been in the job because he seemed well clued up.

Give it a few months and it will rise the company car tax thing is a big hit, I was speaking to the lease company we use when ordering my new car and they said the week 330e went on the portal they had over 500 orders from my company alone.

I ordered the new touring (G21 330i)

there will be much of g20, when 330e will start to be shipped, in september/october.

330e will be a massive hit in company drivers market.

Too expensive and styling average. Worrying that they are already being passed through the system via daily rental market. That will impact heavily on residuals

Coming from my previous car the F30 335D I wouldn't say that the interior is average, its light years ahead

Needs to be rental fleet for "premium" rentals, I know Enterprise had F30 Msports when they came out as I managed to get one instead of a Megane (long story). I suspect they will be high spec cars that will be mileage limited for rental

A first!
Saw my first G20 on the road after nearly 12 weeks of owning mine!
It was a Portimao Blue belting down the outside lane (of course) of the M25 near the A21 going anti clockwise towards the Thames crossing.
Do hope to see a few more in due course!

A friend of mine is looking to buy a pre-reg. Dealers are offering massive discounts without him even trying. The market is awash with them. They just don't seem to be selling particularly well. The GFV at the end of the years was given as £11000. Not brilliant for a car with a list of over £40k.
Still love mine though (apart from the connect services. That's a while different story)

When I looked to order my 330i I first looked for stock cars which met my spec. There was one in uk and that was in Northern Ireland and the dealer would not release it, there were two that were close in spec neither were the colour I wanted and one the dealer had a buyer for the other was black which I wasn't prepared to sacrifice the deficiencies in spec just to have from stock. There were no other cars in uk stock or in build for stock which would have been quicker than a bespoke order. We found plenty of 320d but nothing more 'exciting' (not belittling the 320d just not what I wanted).

Perhaps it is more a question of dealers who ordered for stock at launch making wrong guesses on what specs or models were/would be popular. The way the packs are compiled has probably caught the dealers out too.

I was happy with the deal I got, as a minimum it matched the lowest of the brokers but not what I would call huge compared to discounts have managed in the past with other makes. The bigger issue for me was the plunging value of big diesels when we came to talk about my 2017 X5 40D!!

BMW 3, Merc C class etc etc all have poor residuals.
The residuals are not to bad if you take into account the discounts available.

I was poking about on the AUC website the other day and noticed that sytners had several 330is at £30,500 registered in June.

I think these were fairly lightly specced but even so it seemed a fairly decent discount for a new car. Didn't look at the diesels but assume similar level.
