In the app it doesn't say remote start but rather Climatize Now, this remotely starts. This got me at first, I thought I didn't get it either....

The remote start that all were speaking in iphone was not remote start of engine but rather of ventilation?

Both, you can set the ventilation as you want, cold or hot and then when you want to remotely start your car, it will start via your phone remote app and of course also start either cooling or heating the car. Its a very strange way of doing it, I agree, seems like they intentionally made it non intuitive and it is screwing people up all the time. Maybe in a German mind, you don't remotely start the car just to start it, you start it so you can either cool or heat it. Dunno, Ich weiß es nicht

Option is available in Australia, i have it available and I am based in Sydney. Option is called Ventilate now.

Thanks. So remote start works for you? What software version are you on? I am still on 2018.11.49, so the additional option in iDrive to enable remote start with ventilate now is not available for me. Yet.

I am on 2019.3.30, this is the version I got when I got my car in March this year.

I have VENTILATE/HEAT NOW and I'm able to start it but no remote start of engine. When I go to the car during car ventilation and try to start the car on start button it asks for key anyway. I thought remote start would be my car is at some place and I open the doors remotely and turn on engine to make someone possible to take the car

No, ability to let someone else drive your car without a key is definitely not the intent of any remote start system to date including this one. One might get how that might suddenly be confusing since apparently Android Digital Key functionality is supposed to let you give ability for another Android phone to access and activate the car (possibly just a promise for now, I don't recall anyone discussing ever being able to do it yet on the forum), but that is definitely nothing like remote start or ventilate/climatize functions.

The digital key share option on Android does in fact do this. I share a digital key with my wife and her phone will unlock and start the vehicle. As pointed out though this is completely different to remote start.

This is not remote start "Climatize now" is, ventilate just switches on the fans. Seemingly illegal in the UK but am not 100% convinced.

Ok now all clear. I have key in my samsung and it works , main problem that to open doors only driver door has NFC I think. Also pity that ventilate is just the fan's and not all AC and make it cold in hot day
